WE’RE BACK FROM THE SUPERSHOW!

Wow, what a great time we had in Las Vegas! The MAIA SuperShow just gets better and better each year. We were truly amazed, as we are every year, by the amount of professional effort that goes into every aspect of this dynamic event. Not only are we coming back with more knowledge, we are more motivated and more excited about Martial Arts than ever before! We are looking forward to sharing this enthusiasm and knowledge with you!

The opening ceremonies were mind-blowing! MAIA Executive Director Frank Silverman kicked off the evening with his hilarious video biography. Also included were: motivational speaker Joseph Michelli - “The Starbucks Guy”; UFC Champion Matt Hughes; XMA front man Mike Chat; Muay Thai Kickboxer Lisa King; and UFC President Dana White. The night was capped off with a moving video biography of World Famous Master Ernie Reyes Sr., who was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. At 60 years old, Master Reyes Sr., is in better shape then most twenty-year-olds. He demonstrated along with his World Famous World Action Team his “Train to Live” philosophy.

The seminars were superb! They covered such areas as: creating new motivating ideas for student retention; getting your message out to potential new students; finding a way to make your school the “Place to Be”; using Dynamic energy to motivate your students; stopping instructor burnout; tapping into the 3-5 year old market; and creating an environmentally conscious school. TEAM SMAC was also emerged and sweated in seminars lead by UFC Champions - Chuck Liddell & Matt Hughes, San Shou fighter Cung Le, Olympians Herb Perez (Taekwondo) and Mike Swain (Judo), flexibility training with Bill ‘Super Foot’ Wallace, along with Cardio-kickboxing and Tai-chi. We were very sore afterwards…but also very motivated!

In addition to the Supershow, TEAM SMAC also had the opportunity to see Vegas at its best. We took advantage of it by seeing the latest Cirque du Soleil’s KA. The interactive show followed the story of twins as their lives gets turned inside out. This show had an amazing blend of special effects, and Martial Arts. We recommend this show to any martial artists visiting Las Vegas.

We are definitely taking what we have learned at the MAIA SuperShow Convention, and implementing these new ideas in our daily teachings. Next year the SuperShow will be in Orlando, Florida. So watch out Mickey & Minnie! I hope you guys have your uniforms ready for a workout. See you next year!
